In today’s multifaceted technology environment, it is an exciting time to be a part of the information technology team at Colgate. Our highly technical and innovative team is dedicated to driving growth for Colgate Palmolive in this ever-changing landscape. What role will you play in this transformation journey?

We are seeking a Director, Data Governance to join our newly formed Data Excellence organization. In this role, you will lead the enterprise stewardship community in adopting data governance and management best practices. You will be on the forefront of enabling our data citizens to use and manage our data assets. The ideal candidate is strategic, forward-thinking, and has proven experience in large data transformations, focusing on data governance and data privacy.

What you will do

  • Lead the customer success and enterprise data stewardship team to drive data governance adoption, working with data stewards across divisions to embed governance practices and enhance data-driven culture

  • Act as a data management SME, consulting with stakeholders to improve data governance literacy, advance data maturity, and develop strategic data initiatives

  • Collaborate with domain data leaders to address data issues and leverage opportunities, ensuring data governance frameworks are in line with enterprise goals and regulatory standard

  • Drive the prioritization and activation of data use cases, conduct workshops for development and implementation, and establish SOPs to maintain high data quality and security

  • Evaluate and refine team and program performance through feedback from business and technology partners, using insights to optimize data governance and management processes

  • Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional teams, encouraging a collaborative atmosphere, and partner with various stakeholders to facilitate change and enhance data governance adoption

What you will need (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration or related field

  • 12 years of proven experience in large data transformations focusing on data governance and data privacy

  • Extensive knowledge of data management and data governance principles, implementations and latest industry trends

  • Consistent record of handling multiple business stakeholders, including actively engaging and aligning with enterprise senior leadership to drive data governance initiatives and strategies in line with the overall organizational goals

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to empower and guide cross-functional teams effectively

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality products

What you will need (Preferred)

  • Master’s degree in information management or Library and Information Science

  • CDMP, CIP, CIPP certifications

  • Consulting experience or product management

  • Proficiency in metadata and data quality tools like Atlan, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Atacama, Talend, etc

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $146,000.00 - $210,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
