In today's dynamic technology environment, it is an exciting time to be a part of the information technology team at Colgate. Our highly technical and innovative team is dedicated to driving growth for Colgate Palmolive in this ever-changing landscape. What role will you play as a member of Colgate's Information Technology team?

As a Development Operations/Machine Learning Operations Engineer, you will focus on monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the various technology platforms that hundreds of Data Engineers and Data Scientists rely on daily.

The Development Operations Engineer/Machine Learning Operations Engineer will be responsible for working with various Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other DevOps Engineers across the company. This person will help drive improvements in performance, security, maintainability, and scalability of technology platforms within our Data Science & Engineering group (GitHub, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Apache Airflow, etc.). We are looking for a team player that is oriented to driving agility within the rest of our organization. In this role, you may be asked to research new technologies or platforms related to DevOps and share findings with the rest of the team, and/or provide consultation to other project teams within the organization, evangelizing best practices and security standards. You will work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.

What you'll do :

  • Build, support, and maintain technology platform environments for Data Engineers and Data Scientists (ex. GitHub, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Apache Airflow)

  • Design & develop integrated build pipelines using continuous integration workflows

  • Support the deployment of containers and container orchestration technologies (ex. Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Lead teams to implement Test Automation (Unit, Functional, Regression)

  • Create application performance monitoring processes to proactively identify issues and scale of cloud environments

  • Apply knowledge of current technologies and methodologies with business subject matter to develop technical solutions.

  • Confer with stakeholders to gain an understanding of the situation requiring intervention

  • Translate process into practice through the current Information Technology toolsets.

  • Obtain advice from higher-level Information Technology associates when precedents are unclear

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Comply with all policies and standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

  • At least 2 years professional experience as an DevOps/MLOps Engineer or related role

  • Experience using Git, GitHub, or other version controlled code management tools

  • Working knowledge of Python, Javascript, or Java

  • Working knowledge of command line and shell scripting

  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL (Structured Query Language)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a DevOps or MLOps Engineer role working closely with other programmers (Software Engineers, Data Scientists, etc.)

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS, etc.)

  • Experience managing infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)

  • Experience working with container based framework (Kubernetes & Docker preferred)

  • Experience configuring and using monitoring/trending systems (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)

  • Experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring

  • Strong command of software-automation production systems (GitHub Actions, Selenium, etc.)

  • Familiarity with code deployment tools

  • Experience with ML Ops platforms such as Google Cloud Vertex AI or AWS Sagemaker

  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $70 400,00 - $116 550,00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
